I'm Julian, a current PhD Student (Direct-Entry) at University of Toronto, specialising in Biomedical Engineering, as well as Energy & Environmental Engineering. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich, where I specialized in Energy, Flows & Processes. During my studies, I gained a solid foundation in Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Control Systems, Bioengineering and Energy Technologies, complemented by hands-on experience in CAD, prototyping, coding and experimental work.
Beyond my coursework, I am particularly motivated by the challenges of renewable energy and climate technologies as well as Engineering for health applications. These interests guided my decision to pursue the Energy, Flows & Processes specialization, and now persuing a PhD with a focus on Biomedical Engineering. I am excited about working on innovative solutions that combine engineering rigor with impact in sustainability and healthcare.
Outside of engineering, I enjoy exploring music production and sports such as surfing and skiing, which reflect my passion for creativity, focus, and dynamic environments.
